Welcome to the tutorial for the SNORT — On The Run, a web3 blockchain-based game that will take over your life and maybe even earn you some sweet, sweet crypto tokens while doing so. This tutorial will explain all of the elements of the game, from its free Guest Mode to the fully competitive, NFT-based alternative. Let us begin from the start. When you open up the website which is https://game.snort.wtf/, either on your desktop/laptop computer or a mobile device (you can play the game on both platforms), you will be greeted by the load screen, featuring our protagonist, Snort.
Once the game loads, you will be on its main menu. Here, the game is seen in its Guest Mode.
If you desire to simply play the game, go for the large Play button and you will be transported to the world of Snort and his desperate escape from prison in 2069.
In the game, you have the ability to make Snort jump either by pressing the left mouse button or by tapping and holding on the screen for mobile devices. The longer the press/hold lasts, the longer distance Snort traverses. Occasionally, he will also throw a knife in front of him and that will destroy any enemies directly ahead of him. Above, a police chopper will kill him if he stays in one place for too long. Otherwise, the objective of the game is to travel with Snort as far as possible and collect as many coins as possible. Once Snort dies, this Game Over screen appears.
It displays the collected coins during the run, bonuses and the overall score. From here, you can go back to the Main menu with the left button (so-called Burger stack), play again with the central Play button or see the Leaderboard with the right Trophy button. But, the game takes on a whole new form in its NFT signed-in Game Pass Mode.

Here, you will need to have a digital browser-based wallet in the form of a browser extension. These can be either MetaMask (https://metamask.io/) or WalletConnect (https://walletconnect.com/). For best results, we recommend using MetaMask inside of a Google Chrome browser. Once you download MetaMask from Google Chrome extension marketplace, you will need to make an account. Once you have one, you will see the active wallet in this form.
Here, in the upper left corner of MetaMask, you will need to change the network to Base Mainnet.
If it is not in the list, use the “+Add network” function where you will be able to choose Base Mainnet from a MetaMask website list. Once the Base Mainnet is chosen you will need to get some ETH tokens to your account. These will be used for the NFT mint as well as the $snort tokens. With the funds present, you can mint your NFT on Zora by choosing the “Mint” button on the right side of the screen.
Once the NFT Game Pass mint is complete, go back to the game. On the main screen, choose the Connect option.
Then, choose your wallet — MetaMask in this case.
A sign-in disclaimer will appear where you need to confirm the connection and sign-in.
MetaMask wallet will open and ask for confirmation as well, where you need to choose the “Sign” button.
Once you do, the Main menu will change to your character of Snort, now as an NFT with some extra swag, indicating you’re in Game Pass Mode.
Here, you will have the Trophy button for the Game Pass player leaderboard, but also the Play button. Once you choose Play, new Power-Up options for Snort will appear.
Each of these can be purchased using $snort tokens, along with a detailed explanation of what each of them does in the game and how it helps you in your runs. Having one or more Power-ups looks like this.

Now, with these Power-ups, you can get an additional advantage in the game, making sure that your runs last a lot longer and result in many additional picked coins!
